Breeders Theater returns with its first new show in two years, “Blood Pudding”, written by local playwright and author T.M. Sell.

The play is a satire on vampire and current affairs. A failing company brings in a new CEO, a turnaround specialist who happens to be from Romania.

The show will be directed by J Howard Boyd, and features the talents of Marty Mackenzie, Steve Coffey, Anthony Onorati, Adrienne Grieco, Erica McAdams-Roth, Amber Rack, and Amanda Rae.

“We’re still trying to fill a few gaps in the cast,” said Sell.

BT performed for 10 years at the E.B. Foote Winery in Burien before it closed.

After taking a break for other projects, the company hooked up with the City of Des Moines, leading to the new show at the Des Moines Beach Park Auditorium (22030 Cliff Ave.).

“We will miss the winery, but the auditorium has heat,” said Sell.

The show runs Oct. 25, 26 and Nov. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are still only $20, and are available at www.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets also are available from the City of Des Moines at the Des Moines Field House Recreation Office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., either in person at 1000 S. 220th St., Des Moines, or by credit card at 206-870-6527.
