Kent City Councilmembers Elizabeth Albertson and Jamie Perry will be celebrated at a farewell reception prior to their last council meeting.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Residents are invited to thank Albertson and Perry for their service from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Ave. S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Albertson opted not to seek re-election after serving two four-year terms. She is seeking a 33rd District House seat in the Legislature. She previously served two years on the both the Land Use and Planning Board and the Human Services Commission.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Perry was appointed to the council in 2008 was elected to retain her seat in 2009. She did not seek re-election.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncilmembers Albertson and Perry have worked very hard throughout the years for the best interests of the residents, businesses and organizations that call Kent home,\u201d said Council President Dennis Higgins. \u201cTheir public service is a testament to how much they care about the community they live in. I\u2019m going to miss working with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The reception will be followed at 7 p.m. by the final city council meeting of 2013.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Jim Berrios and Ken Sharp will replace Albertson and Perry on the council starting in January.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
