The Everett Silvertips<\/a> defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds<\/a> 5-1 Sunday night at the ShoWare Center in Kent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle (4-5-0-0) took a 1-0 lead at 6:06 of the first period on a power-play goal by Burke Gallimore. Marcel Noebels had the puck at the right point and centered it to Shea Theodore just inside the blue line at center ice. Theodore put a hard wrist shot on goal with Gallimore in the slot between the circles. Gallimore redirected Theodore’s shot over Everett goalie Kent Simpson’s blocker.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Josh Birkholz got the Silvertips (3-8-0-2) on the board at 9:12 of the first on an unassisted power-play goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

At 10:22 of the first, Tyler Maxwell scored Everett’s second goal on the power play. Kent Simpson and Birkholz had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Nick Walters scored a power play goal at 15:17 of the first to put Everett in front 3-1. The assists were credited to Ryan Harrison and Bittner.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds had the lead in shots on goal 10-8 at the end of the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot the Silvertips 15-10 in a scoreless second period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Silvertips made the score 4-1 at 8:01 of the third on a goal by Zach McPhee. The goal was assisted by Josh Winquist and Harrison.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

At 18:38 of the third, Maxwell scored an empty-net goal. Cody Fowlie had the only assist.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Everett 35-32 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard made 27 saves on 31 shots. His record is now 4-4-0-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett goalie Kent Simpson made 34 saves on 35 shots, improving his record to 3-6-0-1.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds play back-to-back games in Victoria against the Royals on Friday, October 28, and Saturday, October 29.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds next home game is Tuesday, November 1 against the Vancouver Giants at the ShoWare Center in Kent at 7:05pm.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2011-12 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
