Mayor Suzette Cooke visited the monthly gathering of the Centro Rendu Hispanic Advisory Team (HAT) on May 7 to discuss issues related to helping Latinos in South King County.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Centro Rendu HAT group, which meets monthly, represents organizations serving Latino families in King County. Mirya Munoz-Roach, director of Hispanic outreach services for St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle and King County, leads the group.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The monthly gathering is held at Centro Rendu, the Latino Educational and Resource Center of SVdP, located inside its community thrift store in Kent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

HAT members include:\u00a0YWCA; DAWN (Domestic Advocacy Women Network); Community Health Plans of Washington; Northwest Immigrant Right Project; Children’s Alliance; Children’s Home Society; Consejo Counseling Services; Department of Social and Health Services Division of Child Support; Law firm of Hanis, Irvine, Prothero; Multi-Service Center of Kent; Highline Community College; Washington State University; Mexican Folkloric Dance Group Tonantzin; Kent School District PASA representatives; Catholic Community Service; the Department of Labor & Industries; Mercy Housing; Neighborcare; CIS of Kent; and staff of Centro Rendu.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
