The Washington State Patrol arrested a 47-year-old Kent man for investigation of vehicular assault after his pickup collided with two other vehicles at about 1:10 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of State Route 516 and Meeker Street.

Paramedics transported a 28-year-old Kent woman to Valley Medical Center in Renton for treatment, according to a State Patrol media release. The woman was treated for minor injuries and released Wednesday, a hospital spokeswoman said Thursday.

The 2002 Nissan pickup was traveling westbound on State Route 516 when it reportedly turned left on a red light at Meeker Street and collided with a silver 2006 Honda Civic, driven by the Kent woman, and a 2005 Ford Freestyle, driven by a Seattle man.

The Civic and minivan were traveling east on State Route 516 in the left lane as they moved into the intersection with Meeker Street on a green light. The pickup hit the Civic in the driver’s side. The Civic then rotated and struck the right side of the minivan.

Both the pickup and Civic were totaled. The Kent man and Seattle man were uninjured.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident, according to the State Patrol.

The accident delayed traffic for about two hours.
