Renovated Sam’s Sports Bar celebrates its grand re-opening this weekend.

After eight months of extensive work, owner Sam Virk unveiled the new 6,000-square-foot sports bar, restaurant and live music venue on Thursday.

The venue features 37 HDTVs, a 60-foot bar, pool tables, dart boards, an exclusive VIP area and seating for up to 300. Sam’s also offers a comfort-driven menu built by chef Joey Caguioa.

The weekend celebration includes appearances from a number of local bands as part of Sam’s “Back To The ’80s” promotion.

Journey tribute band The Infinity Project takes Sam’s stage at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Hairstorm honors all the great “Hair Metal” rock from the ’80s at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Other highlights include special prices and appearances by the Fireball and Svedka Girls.

Wear your Journey T-shirt or any other concert shirt from the ’80s and forego the $5 cover charge Friday and Saturday.

Sam’s opens daily at 11 a.m. for lunch, and plans are in the works for weekend breakfast.

Family dining is available until 9 p.m. daily.
