The Seattle Thunderbirds were trailing the Prince George Cougars 1-0 Saturday night with 17 seconds left in the game at the CN Centre.

After a Cougars icing the T-Birds sent out six skaters to try and tie the game. They did just that when Seth Swenson banged the puck past Prince George goalie Devon Fordyce with 10 seconds left in the game.

In overtime, Swenson set up Shea Theodore with a back door pass on a two-on-one break. Theodore fired it past Fordyce at the two-minute mark to give the T-Birds a 2-1 overtime victory over the Cougars.

Seattle goalie Brandon Glover made several solid saves during the course of the game to keep the T-Birds within striking distance. Glover finished with 29 saves on 30 shots and his record is now 2-1-0-0.

The Cougars beat the T-Birds 4-3 Friday night at CN Centre in the first of back-to-back games.

Seattle (2-2-0-0) outshot Prince George 14-7 in the first period.

Prince George (3-1-0-0) outshot Seattle 15-10 in the second period but the T-Birds led 24-22 in total shots after 40 minutes.

On the tying goal Luck Lockhart won a faceoff in the right circle back to Branden Troock. Troock sent the puck to Jerret Smith pinching down into the left circle. Smith stumbled, fell to his stomach but was able to center the puck to Swenson. Swenson knocked it home for his second goal of the year.

Seattle outshot Prince George 34-30 in the game.

Fordyce made 32 saves on 34 shots and his record is now 1-1-0-0.
