For the Reporter

The sixth annual Kent International Festival has a new home and date.

The festival comes to the ShoWare Center on May 31, offering more seating and avoiding Mother Nature’s sometimes rainy wrath. The event, free to the public, begins at 10 a.m. and features entertainment, food and fun.

The festival brings music and a colorful kaleidoscope of dancing talent from throughout the globe. Local restaurants will serve exotic foods from geographical areas like Greece, Australia and Thailand.

New this year, the festival will host a special stage sharing interesting information about the history of the diverse cultures in the Kent community.

Festival organizers also encourage children to “go around the world” of cultural booths with their passports to play games and get a prize at the end of their journey.

This year’s program is enhanced by the new International Festival Finale. Entertainers will perform in the evening and will be complimented by the parade of multi-colored Hand Carried Floats presented by the teams of high school students who built them.

[4
["post-19578","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
