Arbor Village Continuing Care Retirement Community<\/a>, 24205 116th Ave. S.E., in Kent, will host a series of events Friday, May 3 designed for people who care for individuals with dementia.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

An event for professionals runs from 2:15-4:15 p.m. with a full view of the needs of clients with memory challenges, presented by dementia expert, Teepa Snow. A second event for caregivers goes from 6:30-8:30 p.m. to offer strategies for improving the quality of visits and enhancing the time spent together.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Free parking and shuttle to the community is available at First Christian Church of Kent, 11717 S.E. 240th St.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Snow is a nationally renowned dementia expert who trains and consults for healthcare professionals and families privately. A native of North Carolina, she offers audiences an interactive and inspirational approach to how dementia care is viewed, creating a unique and enjoyable experience for all who attend.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As a certified occupational therapist, Snow has a unique medical perspective on how the brain controls our body and our behaviors giving her the perfect medical degree to explain how a brain disease like dementia affects a person.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
