Reporter staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Morgan Reber recovered from the pain of a nasty auto accident 12 years ago to find comfort in her therapeutic profession.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Kent woman overcame minor injuries from a 2003 accident with frequent chiropractic and massage care. Such treatment profoundly changed her life and altered her career choice.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cIt made a complete difference in my life and to this day, I\u2019ve had no issues,\u201d Reber said. \u201cI always knew that one day I wanted to be able to help people like that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Reber, a 1999 Kent-Meridian High School graduate, went on to become a licensed massage therapist, receiving certification from Portland\u2019s East West College of the Healing Arts. She also completed pre- and perinatal massage training. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n She worked for one company before deciding to open her own practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n When a storefront vacancy opened in The Old Creamery Building in historic downtown Kent, Reber jumped at the chance to own and operate her own business \u2013 Cascara Body Works.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n For Reber, it also was an opportunity to come home to family and friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cThe historic part Kent is a good place to be and I love to see it grow,\u201d said Reber, a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Kent Downtown Partnership, and Kent Chamber of Commerce. \u201cIt\u2019s just a great place to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Reber offers a variety of relaxation massages and slow, gentle deep tissue massages. She also sells body treatment products at her studio, 201 W. Meeker St. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s so fun,\u201d she said of her work. \u201cYou meet nice people and make a positive change in their life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
