South County Cats <\/a>received a grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or ASPCA, the nation\u2019s oldest animal welfare organization, for its companion cat spay\/neuter voucher program.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This grant\u00a0 will provide financial support for approximately 240 spay\/neuter operations. Each year South County Cats facilitates hundreds of spay\/neuters through this program to proactively reduce the uncontrolled breeding of cats the community.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The program offers vouchers for free cat or kitten spay\/neuter for low-income, disabled and senior citizens in south King County.\u00a0 Eight veterinarians and two spay\/neuter clinics participate in this program. To request a voucher application email southcountycats@comcast.net or call 206-910-4495.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to receive program funds from this well known organization,\u201d Sally Halela said, director of South County Cats. \u201cThis grant validates the important work South County Cats does to achieve its mission to save lives through spay and neuter.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

South County Cats was founded in July 2006 to help reduce overpopulation, homelessness and euthanasia of cats in our local shelters. They will celebrate their five year anniversary with the achievement of nearly 4,000 spay\/neuters.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
