The drama departments from two Kent-area high schools have been nominated for awards at the sixth annual 5th Avenue High School Musical Theatre Awards.<\/p>\n

Kentridge High School received 14 nominations for its productions of \u201cLittle Me,\u201d \u201cShe Loves Me\u201d and \u201cMack and Mabel.\u201d Nominations included \u201cOutstanding Music Direction\u201d for \u201cShe Loves Me,\u201d \u201cOutstanding Overall Musical Production\u201d for \u201cMack and Mabel,\u201d and \u201cOutstanding Performance by an Actor in Leading Role\u201d for Danny Lindgren\u2019s portrayal of Nobel in \u201cLittle Me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The school also received an honorable mention for choreography in \u201cMack and Mabel,\u201d and a special nod for Todd Lane\u2019s outstanding achievement in sound design.<\/p>\n

Kentlake High School received five nominations for its production of \u201cDamn Yankees,\u201d including \u201cOutstanding Choreography,\u201d \u201cOutstanding Scenic Design,\u201d and \u201cOutstanding Lobby Display.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also, Kentlake student Keenan Ward earned an honorable mention for his performance as Mr. Applegate in \u201cDamn Yankees.\u201d<\/p>\n

The award ceremony will take place 7 p.m. June 9 at Benaroya Hall, 200 University St., Seattle.<\/p>\n
