Milk Builds Strong Schools \u2013 a partnership between Jacksons Food Stores and the Dairy Farmers of Washington \u2013\u00a0will donate 5 percent of all Jacksons gallon milk sales in Washington to a randomly selected Washington school in a city where a Jacksons store is located.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

There are two Jacksons Food Store locations in Kent \u2013 22588 84th Ave. S. and 23953 104th Ave. SE.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

All Jacksons gallon milk sales in Washington from March 13 to May 28 will go toward the purchase of Apple educational products: iPad Learning Centers \u2013 iPads, apps, and e-textbooks for the selected public schools.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Through The Milk Builds Strong Schools program, we hope to provide educational tools to elementary schools that have undergone severe budget cuts in recent years,” said Jeff Steele, director of retail marketing and business development for the Washington Dairy Products Commission. “The hope is that milk sales will help fill the gap between what is budgeted and what is truly needed.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Jacksons Food Stores is committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” stated John Jackson, CEO of Jacksons Food Stores. “In partnering with the Dairy Farmers of Washington, our goal is to create a campaign that will benefit Washington schools, and we are thrilled to work together with them to do this.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Washington dairy farmers have conducted numerous food and cash drives across Washington to benefit Northwest Harvest, Second Harvest and Food Lifeline.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Jacksons Food Stores has raised millions of dollars for local charities\/community service organizations, such as The St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital and Domestic Violence prevention networks in four states.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

All public elementary schools from eligible cities in Western Washington (where Jacksons Food Stores are located) will be entered for a chance to win and the schools will be chosen via a random drawing shortly after May 28.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
