McGuire played for the Glendale team. He is considered the Pirates No. 6 overall prospect with an estimated arrival season of 2017 in the majors.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Here&#8217;s what MLB.com said about McGuire&#8217;s performance in Arizona.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;Unquestionably the best defensive catcher in the Fall League, he&#8217;s an advanced receiver for a 20-year-old and has plus arm strength as well. McGuire makes contact at the plate but needs to add strength so he can drive the ball more consistently.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The Pirates drafted McGuire, who bats left and throws right, with the 14th overall pick in the 2013 draft. He signed out of high school for $2.3 million.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>This past minor league season, McGuire batted .254 with no home runs, 34 RBI and and 14 stolen bases.
