Flu season has finally arrived in Washington and the state department of health is reminding people that a few simple precautions can keep the disease from spreading.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The flu is different from a cold. It often causes fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, headaches and fatigue. Most healthy adults can spread the flu before they know they are sick and for up to seven days after showing symptoms. Children can spread the flu for even longer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Getting vaccinated each year is advised for everyone six months and older, according to the state department of health. Other precautions include wash ing hands frequently, covering your mouth when you cough and staying home if you are sick.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
