Seattle took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Jim O’Brien at 9:39 of the first period. O’Brien brought the puck out of the left corner into the left face off dot. He beat Kelowna goalie Adam Brown through the legs for his first goal of the year. Greg Scott had an assist on the goal.<\/p>\n
Colin Long scored a power-play goal at 17:43 of the first to tie the game 1-1. Tyson Barrie and Jamie Benn had the assists on the goal.<\/p>\n
Stepan Novotny scored an unassisted goal at 17:57 of the first to put the Rockets in front 2-1.<\/p>\n
Kelowna (7-6-0-0) outshot Seattle 10-6 in the first period.<\/p>\n
The Rockets took a 3-1 lead at 10:52 of the second period when Lucas Bloodoff scored. Dylan Hood and Jesse Paradis had the assists.<\/p>\n
The T-Birds cut the Rockets lead to one by scoring a shorthanded goal with three seconds left in the second period. Jeremy Boyer stole the puck at the blue line along the right boards in the Seattle zone. He headed up ice on a two-on-one with Chris Cloud. At the top of the right circle Boyer crossed the puck to Cloud who beat Brown high over the glove.<\/p>\n
The Rockets had 10 shots in the second period to seven for the T-Birds. Kelowna went into the second intermission with a 20-13 lead in shots.<\/p>\n
Kelowna outshot Seattle 30-18 in the game.<\/p>\n
Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard stopped 27 of 30 shots and his record is now 1-5-0-0.<\/p>\n
Brown made 16 saves on 18 shots and his record is now 2-0-0-0.<\/p>\n
The T-Birds next game is Wednesday against the Kamloops Blazers at 7 p.m. in Kamloops. They travel to Spokane to take on the Chiefs on Friday at 7 p.m. The T-Birds return home Saturday to take on the Everett Silvertips at KeyArena at 7:05 p.m.<\/p>\n
T-Birds’ season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825. Purchasing a season ticket will ensure fans can attend the T-Birds first game in their new home, the Kent Events Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
