David Cohen, 16, of Kent will compete in the 2011 Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game World Championship Aug. 12-14 in San Diego.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Cohen will go up against 350 of the world’s best players from 25 countries in an effort to earn the World Champion title and a $7,500 scholarship.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The championships will include 16 hours of card-wielding competition. Each player has competed in more than 10 separate Play! Pok\u00e9mon tournaments since the 2010-2011 season kicked-off last November. On the road to the world championships, Cohen and other players have excelled at the city, state, regional and national levels.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
