Kent residents can pick up free, empty sandbags at the city operations facility, 5821 S. 240th St., also known as West James Street.<\/p>\n
Residents can get the sandbags between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each household is limited to 100 sandbags.<\/p>\n
City staff will hand out brochures with the sandbags about how to properly fill and place the sandbags.<\/p>\n
Residents can fill the sandbags at one of six locations during daylight hours and should bring their own shovel. The six locations are:<\/p>\n
\u2022 The old Panther Lake Elementary School, 20831 108th Ave. S.E.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Fred Meyer store, 10201 S.E. 240th St.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Earthworks Park, 742 E. Titus St.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Home Depot store, 26120 104th Ave. S.E.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Totem Middle School, 25630 40th Ave. S.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Grandview Park, 3600 S. 228th St., SeaTac.<\/p>\n
City officials are looking for volunteers to help people fill, transfer and stack sandbags, which can weigh up to about 70 pounds.<\/p>\n
