Seattle goalie Justin Myles made 27 saves and Connor Honey scored two goals Saturday night to help lead the Thunderbirds to a 3-2 victory over the Everett Silvertips at Comcast Arena.

Myles earned his first career win after standing tall in the third period. The Tips were really pressing with the T-Birds up by one and Myles made several good saves to keep his team ahead. His record is now 1-2-0-0.

This is the second time this season Honey has scored two goals in game. He had two against the Kamloops Blazers on Oct. 5 in Kamloops.

The T-Birds and Blazers face each other today at 5:05 p.m. at the ShoWare Center. The Blazers are the top-ranked team in the CHL and have yet to lose in regulation this season.

Everett (6-8-0-1) took a 1-0 lead at 3:32 of the first period when Tyler Sandhu scored. Cole MacDonald and Manraj Hayer had the assists.

Seattle (7-5-0-0) tied the game 1-1 at 7:18 of the first on a power-play goal by Connor Honey. Shea Theodore had the puck at center ice inside the blue line. He fed the puck to Honey in the left circle and he one-timed the pass. Honey’s shot beat Everett goalie Austin Lotz who was screened on the play. Riley Sheen had the second assist to give him 10 points on the season.

The Silvertips outshot the T-Birds 8-4 in the first period.

The T-Birds took a 2-1 lead on a shorthanded breakaway goal from Alexander Delnov at 13:26 of the second period. Connor Sanvido moved the puck up the left boards into the neutral zone. Delnov streaked to puck and came into the Everett zone along the left boards. Delnov came down on Lotz going left to right and beat the goalie with a backhand shot high over the goalie’s glove. This was the T-Birds first shorthanded goal of the season.

Everett led 19-12 in shots after outshooting Seattle 11-8 in the second period.

Reid Petryk tied the game 2-2 for Everett at 7:59 of the third period. Ryan Murray had the assist on the goal that came just after a T-Birds power play ended.

Honey put the T-Birds back in front less than a minute after Everett’s tying goal. Honey got a loose puck in the neutral zone and skated in the Everett zone with Sheen on his right. Honey cut into the slot and blasted a shot past Lotz for his second goal of the game.

Everett outshot Seattle 10-7 in the third period and 29-19 in the game.

Lotz made 16 saves on 19 shots and his record is now 1-3-0-0.
