The second starts at 9 a.m. Dec. 5 at Fire Station No. 78, 17852 S.E. 256th St., in Covington.<\/p>\n<p>The sessions are open to the public, but the Council does not allow public comment at the workshops. Residents will get a chance to comment about the budget before final adoption, scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at City Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke last month proposed to Council a $157.8 million operating budget, including a general fund budget of $80.3 million and $11.4 million for capital projects. The general fund budget includes a projected $4.6 million revenue shortfall next year and the elimination of 24 jobs.
