Emily Tanasse of Kentlake paced the local swimmers at the South Puget Sound League championship meet Monday afternoon at Curtis High.<\/p>\n
Swimmers were trying to qualify for the West Central District meet Friday and Saturday at Rogers High with top finishers potentially earning qualifying times for the Class 4A state meet slated for Nov. 13-14 at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.<\/p>\n
Tanasse took third the 200 individual medley with a district qualifying time of 2:18.10 and the 100 yard backstroke as well as being the lead off leg on a pair of top eight relay finishes for the Falcons.<\/p>\n
Taylor Bouffard took fourth in the 50 and 100 freestyle while Katrina Hetrick finished sixth in the 100 free and second in the 100 breaststroke and Sarah Dougherty added a fifth place finish in the 100 yard back for Kentlake.<\/p>\n
Kentwood was led by Lindsey Krause, Maggie Molloy, Erica Wright, Shannelle Cayetano, Erika Panzer, Paige Morris and Marissa Dyrdahl, all of whom swam a number of individual events as well as relays for the Conquerors.<\/p>\n
Kentwood\u2019s relay teams finished sixth in the 200 medley and fourth in the 200 yard free with the Conks best relay showing in the 400 yard free, finishing third with a district qualifying time of 4:01:58.<\/p>\n
Cayetano took fifth in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free while Krause and Wright finished sixth and seventh in the 100 yard breaststroke.<\/p>\n
Kentlake finished seventh overall in the team standings.<\/p>\n
Kentwood came in fifth and league rival Kentridge took third.<\/p>\n
\u2022 ALSO: Kent-Meridian\u2019s Joanna Wu won the 200-yard freestyle, touching out with a state-qualifying time of 1:57.10. KR\u2019s Jacqueline Do took second in the event with a district-qualifying time of 2:08.96. Do added a district-qualifying time in the 100 free (58.60). Wu, however, wasn\u2019t done at the 200 free, posting another state-qualifying time in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.60. … Kentridge\u2019s Emily Shonka added district-qualifying times in the 200 IM (2:32.00) and 100 butterfly (1:07.71). Teammate Emily Mohr punched her district ticket in the 50 free (25.74) and 100 free (56.96) in the 500 free.
