The Seattle Thunderbirds had a total team effort Friday night at the ShoWare Center to shut out the Moose Jaw Warriors 2-0 to win their third game in a row.

The T-Birds killed off a 1:41 5-on-3 Warriors power play late in the first period to bring the 4,256 in attendance to their feet. Brad Deagle, Marcel Noebels and Luke Lockhart played the majority of the penalty kill and each blocked at least two shots to keep the game scoreless. Calvin Pickard also made several solid saves during the penalty kill in net.

Pickard stopped all 40 of Warrior shots, improving his record to 16-14-0-1.

Moose Jaw led 18-5 in total shots after one period.

Seattle (16-17-0-1) took a 1-0 lead at 18:46 of the second period. Brad Deagle got the puck at the left side of Warrior zone just below the blue line and put a wrist shot on net. The puck was rebounded off Moose Jaw goalie Luke Siemens into the slot. Chance Lund got a stick on the puck before Tyler Alos came down the slot and chipped a knuckling puck over Siemens’ left shoulder.

The Warriors (23-10-3-1) led 24-12 in shots on goal after the second period.

Burke Gallimore made it 2-0 at the 1:37 of the third period on an unassisted power-play goal. A Moose Jaw defenseman attempted a clearing attempt up center ice that Gallimore intercepted in the high slot. Gallimore took a hard wrist shot with Lockhart screening the goalie, and the puck beat Siemens low the right side.

The Warriors finished with a 40-22 advantage in shots on goal at the end of the game.

Siemens made 20 saves on 22 shots, and his record is now 19-7-3-2.

The T-Birds face the Portland Winterhawks in the annual New Years Eve game at the Rose Garden in Portland Saturday at 8pm.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2011-12 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office.
