{"id":18542,"date":"2015-08-12T13:56:49","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T20:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/leaders-celebrate-mill-creek-neighborhoods-historic-designation\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T09:15:30","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T16:15:30","slug":"leaders-celebrate-mill-creek-neighborhoods-historic-designation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/leaders-celebrate-mill-creek-neighborhoods-historic-designation\/","title":{"rendered":"Leaders celebrate Mill Creek neighborhood&#8217;s historic designation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>A ribbon cutting and reception celebrated the official Historic Neighborhood District designation of the Mill Creek neighborhood last Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Granted by the King County Landmarks Commission, Mill Creek is the first neighborhood in Washington to receive the historic landmark designation outside of Seattle.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The commission approved the Mill Creek Neighborhood Association&#8217;s nomination for the designation in November.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>County and city officials were on hand for the celebration.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The district is a well-preserved concentration of houses that reflect the development of Kent during the first half of the 20th century.
