Candidates interested in filing for any of the 95 positions, including numerous Legislature seats, open for election in King County this year may file online or in person May 12-16.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

King County Elections encourages candidates to file online, the easiest and most efficient method.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Key dates:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

May 12, 9 a.m. – May 16, 4 p.m., on-line candidate filing<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

May 12, 8:30 a.m. \u2013 May 16, 4:30 p.m., in-person candidate filing<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

May 16, approximately 5 p.m., lot draw to determine ballot order<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

May 19, 4:30 p.m., deadline to withdraw<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

May 20, noon, King County Elections posts official list of candidates in the order they will appear on the primary ballot<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

May 28, 4:30 p.m., deadline to file local voters\u2019 pamphlet<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Aug. 5, primary election<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Nov. 4, general election<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

To file for office, candidates must be registered in the district for which they are filing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
