Another shutout loss, another disappointing night for Kentridge.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Auburn-Riverside scored all 26 points of its points in the first half and went on to subdue Kentridge in the Chargers’ South Puget Sound League North 4A football opener at French Field Thursday night.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Auburn Riverside improved to 2-0 in league under first-year coach Bryant Thomas. Kentridge, blanked by South Kitsap 40-0 last week, dropped to 0-2 on the young season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
While the Chargers’ defense managed to stop the Ravens in the second half, Kentridge’s offense continued to flounder.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Frustrations reached a boiling point when a fight broke out, resulting in a player from each team being ejected from the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Chargers were held to only 42 yards of total offense in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Kentridge threw for 39 yards in the game. Wide receiver Sam Mullins made one catch for 29 yards.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Auburn Riverside had more success running the ball, putting up 162 yards for the game. Quarterback Kevin Thomson scored on a pair of 5-yard runs. Joey Galeno also scored from a yard out.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Thomson threw for 121 yards for the Ravens.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Drew Wallen returned an interception 32 yards for an Auburn Riverside touchdown.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Kentridge hosts Auburn at 7 p.m. next Friday. Auburn Riverside hosts Tahoma, also at 7 p.m. next Friday.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
