While two superb teams compete on the field during Super Bowl XLVIII, two deserving youth health and fitness projects from the Denver and Seattle areas also face off.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The NFL chose Kent School District\u2019s East Hill Elementary project to raise funds for playground equipment to compete with a Denver-area school. The \u201ccontest\u201d is a part of NFL PLAY 60 DonorsChoose.org Showdown.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
From\u00a0Saturday through\u00a0Sunday the public can participate by casting votes at\u00a0www.NFLrush.com\/choose<\/a>. On\u00a0Monday, the project with more votes will receive full funding from the NFL. The remaining project will receive 50 percent of the its funding from the NFL.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cOur students, staff, and faculty have been very excited for the Seattle Seahawks all season, and this contest really brings their achievement home for all of us,\u201d said Superintendent Edward Lee Vargas. \u201cThe twelfth man\u2019s fervor will surely spill over so the students at East Hill will get playground equipment that will keep them healthy and fit, like the Seahawks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
