This allows the RFA to sustain high-quality services to residents even in tough economic times.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The RFA is allowed to set the fire benefit charge at up to 60 percent of its operating budget. The Kent RFA has been conservative in using the FBC, never exceeding 48 percent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Given its track record of using restraint, I will be voting yes on Proposition 1 to re-authorize the fire benefit charge on April 26.
