{"id":17869,"date":"2016-03-09T15:28:33","date_gmt":"2016-03-09T23:28:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/ban-is-needed-to-protect-us\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T23:35:35","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T06:35:35","slug":"ban-is-needed-to-protect-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/letters\/ban-is-needed-to-protect-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Ban is needed to protect us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>I am not only an \u201cold fogey over 50\u201d but also someone who has protected this community for more than 36 years as an emergency responder.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">In that time, I can say unequivocally that each and every year on or around July 4, there was 1, a structure fire; and 2, an injury to a human as the result of fireworks.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Our world is ever changing and as adults, so must we.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">To harken back to the \u201cgood old days\u201d doesn\u2019t cut it any more.
