The King County Sheriff\u2019s Office Fire\/Arson Investigation Unit and the\u00a0 Des Moines Police<\/a> Department are requesting the public\u2019s assistance to help identify the individual or individuals responsible for setting a residential structure fire at 20847 Des Moines Memorial Drive.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

At about 3:40 p.m. Friday, March 9, someone set a fire in the unoccupied residence that quickly spread throughout the remainder of the structure causing more than $100,000 dollars in damage, according to a Des Moines Police media release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Multiple fire units from South King Fire and Rescue, the Burien\/Normandy Park Fire Department and SeaTac Fire Department responded to the blaze, which took more than three hours to bring under control.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Investigators determined the fire was incendiary in nature and posed an extreme life\/safety risk to the responding fire department personnel and the public.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about the arson fire are requested to contact the King County Sheriff\u2019s Office Fire\/Arson Investigation Unit at 206-296-6670 or the Arson Alarm Foundation’s Fire Stoppers tip line at 800-55-ARSON. Calls will remain anonymous.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Arson Alarm is offering a reward from its $10,000 fund for the arrest and conviction of those responsible.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
