They came in their keiko-gi (tunics), hakama (pants) and their bogu (armor.)<\/p>\n

They swung their shinai (swords) with fervor, shouting with great kiai (spirit).<\/p>\n

So passed Nov. 7 at the Kent Commons, the epicenter of the annual Kent Kendo Club Tournament.<\/p>\n

More than 100 competitors from across the state participated, demonstrating their prowess, as well as their respect, to this traditional Japanese martial art.<\/p>\n
