A 17-year-old Kent boy pleaded not guilty Monday to second-degree murder in connection with a shooting death May 22 of a 16-year-old boy at a backyard barbecue in Auburn.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
James Anthony Mills entered the plea at his arraignment at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. He remains in the King County jail with bail set at $1 million, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Mills is scheduled to return to court June 20 when a trial date could be set or attorneys could ask for more time to prepare the case.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
