{"id":17078,"date":"2012-05-01T11:57:06","date_gmt":"2012-05-01T18:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-city-employee-named-to-shopping-center-committee\/"},"modified":"2016-10-23T10:15:27","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T17:15:27","slug":"kent-city-employee-named-to-shopping-center-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/business\/kent-city-employee-named-to-shopping-center-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent city employee named to shopping center committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Kurt Hanson, city of Kent economic development manager, has been appointed co-chair of the Alliance Program of the <a title=\"inter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.icsc.org\/\" target=\"_self\">International Council of Shopping Centers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The program provides forums for the public and private sectors to network, share ideas, discuss industry issues and explore retail development opportunities.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>In the volunteer role, Hanson will represent the interests of owners, developers, investors, marketers and other retail specialists across the state of Washington.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Hanson has worked with the region\u2019s business and development community since 1998 recruiting new investment and offering assistance to expanding businesses.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>\u201cWith experience in both the public and private sectors, this is a great fit for him,&#8221; said Ben Wolters, city economic and community development director. &#8220;Kurt\u2019s work was instrumental in making Kent Station the reality it is today.
