{"id":16897,"date":"2012-03-23T13:39:21","date_gmt":"2012-03-23T20:39:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-school-districts-energy-program-saves-money\/"},"modified":"2016-10-23T01:40:31","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T08:40:31","slug":"kent-school-districts-energy-program-saves-money","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-school-districts-energy-program-saves-money\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent School District&#8217;s energy program saves money"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>The Kent School District Energy Program has saved more than $147,000 from June to December 2011.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Last year, the district started the Energy Program with the goals: maintaining comfort in the learning environment, eliminate energy waste, save money and create a climate of conservation ensuring sustainable savings.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Two district employees are tasked with the responsibility of monitoring energy usage in buildings, analyzing utility bills and working with schools and departments to find ways to save utility costs.
