Kent resident Stefano Langone has advanced to the top 60 on “American Idol” and a spot in the Feb. 23 show from Las Vegas when contestants must perform songs by the Beatles.

Langone performed Stevie Wonder’s “You Can Feel It All Over” in Thursday’s competition on Fox to earn a berth in the next round, according to www.thehollywoodgossip.com.

“This is it, this is our life,” Langone said on the show just prior to a brief clip of him singing followed by snippets of performances by Jovany Barreto and Jacee Badeaux.

“You can breathe a little easier,” host Ryan Seacrest told Langone, Barreto and Badeaux after they were told they were moving on to the next round.

Langone, 21, a Kentwood High School graduate, was one of 100 contestants who were still alive for the title going into Thursday’s show.

The top 24 contestants are expected to be announced on the Feb. 24 broadcast. Those 24 then move on to sing on the March 1-2 shows. The first elimination round is March 3.
