A car crashed into a Kent apartment building early Sunday morning on the West Hill, narrowly missing a resident asleep in one of the units.

Kent Police arrested the driver for investigation of DUI after the car ran off the road struck the building at about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 23600 block of Pacific Highway South, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.

Emergency personnel found the car lodged in the apartment unit. The resident was not injured by the crash.

A city of Kent building inspector ruled the apartment unit to be unstable and could not be inhabited until stabilized. Red Cross helped the resident find a place to stay.
