The Spokane Chiefs got goals from four different players Wednesday night in Spokane to secure a 4-1 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This was the third of three consecutive games against the Chiefs. The Chiefs won all three of the games.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle (16-23-1-0) dropped its 12th consecutive game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Spokane (27-13-1-0) took a 1-0 lead at 1:18 of the first period when Mitch Holmberg scored. Dylan Walchuk and Cole Wedman had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle tied the game 1-1 on a power -play goal from Alexander Delnov at 11:26 of the first. Delnov took a pass in the left corner from Shea Theodore and skated into the left circle. With Seth Swenson screening Spokane goalie Eric Williams, Delnov snapped a wrist shot past the goalie for his 14th goal of the season. Swenson also had the second assist on the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle outshot Spokane 13-10 in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Chiefs took a 2-1 lead at 3:16 of the second period on Liam Stewart’s 10th goal of the season. Collin Valcourt and Connor Chartier were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Spokane led 27-20 in shots after two periods by outshooting Seattle 17-7 in the second period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Chiefs took a 3-1 lead on a goal from Mike Aviani that was deflected into the Seattle net at 8:58 of the third period. Brenden Kichton and Blake Gal had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Chiefs were awarded a penalty shot at 13:56 of the third while on the penalty kill. Carter Proft took the penalty shot and he converted by beating Seattle goalie Danny Mumaugh through the legs to give the Chiefs a 4-1 lead.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Spokane outshot Seattle 38-31 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Mumaugh stopped 34 of 38 shots and his record is now 0-3-0-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Williams made 30 saves on 31 shots and his record is now 21-10-1-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds next game is Saturday against the Victoria Royals at ShoWare Center are 7:05pm. They travel to Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans on Sunday at 5:05pm.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
