{"id":16298,"date":"2015-07-12T19:32:56","date_gmt":"2015-07-13T02:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/fire-heavily-damages-kent-home-6-occupants-safely-flee\/"},"modified":"2016-10-21T12:45:37","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T19:45:37","slug":"fire-heavily-damages-kent-home-6-occupants-safely-flee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/fire-heavily-damages-kent-home-6-occupants-safely-flee\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire heavily damages Kent home; 6 occupants safely flee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p><strong>For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>A Kent Fire Department RFA investigator is working to determine the cause of a house fire in the 25100 block of 142 Avenue Southeast on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Firefighters, who were dispatched to the fire at 8 a.m., found the front deck on fire with flames spreading into the attic space through the bird-blocking and into the living space.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>All six people, including an infant, were able to get out safely, though several pets are unaccounted for.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Because the fire was in the attic space, it was able to spread to other portions of the single-story house.
