Along with quality of schools, most house-hunters rate “safety” as a high priority while searching for their future neighborhood and home.

On Nov. 4, voters in Kent can help ensure a safer city by voting yes on Proposition A, a measure that supports public safety and training facilities.

Realtors share our clients’ desire for safe communities. We know how difficult it can be to sell homes in neighborhoods with high crime rates, and that’s why Seattle KingCounty Realtors endorsed this proposal, and are urging Kent’s voters to approve it.

Kent’s public safety facilities have not kept pace with the city’s growth or with the training, technology and equipment that is needed to serve an expanding and increasingly diverse population. A new facility will allow much-needed expansion and consolidation of the police force, and help public safety staff function and communicate more efficiently.

By approving the bond, voters would pay about 19 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value. Realtors believe that’s a small – but very wise – investment. We hope voters will join our members in Kent in voting yes for a safer Kent.
