For the Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Continuing a long tradition of supporting local students in the pursuit of further education, the Rotary Club of Kent awarded nearly $10,000 in vocational scholarships to select seniors from the Kent School District.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The young adults who have been chosen seek hands-on skilled vocational careers, providing good paying jobs.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The Rotary Club awarded $1,600 scholarships to each of the following seniors:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0Alexandria Hindman and Rylie Arnold of Kentlake plan to attend South Seattle Community College where they will study culinary arts.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0Kaitlyn Lewis of Kentlake plans to attend Green River Community College to earn an associate’s degree as a para-educator.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0Tanner Zeiler of Kentridge plans to attend Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix to become a diesel mechanic.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0Nikita Itin of Kent-Meridian plans to attend GRCC to study welding.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u2022\u00a0Salvador Zuniga of Kent-Meridian plans to attend Highline College to study graphic design.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Rotary is a worldwide service organization where each of the more than 30,000 clubs strives to help its local community and provide fellowship for its members.
