{"id":15414,"date":"2012-12-24T10:43:34","date_gmt":"2012-12-24T18:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/city-of-kent-sets-public-hearing-about-surplus-copper-brass-items\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T07:10:36","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T14:10:36","slug":"city-of-kent-sets-public-hearing-about-surplus-copper-brass-items","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/city-of-kent-sets-public-hearing-about-surplus-copper-brass-items\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Kent sets public hearing about surplus copper, brass items"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>The Kent City Council will hold a public hearing on the surplus of copper and brass fittings, pipe and other miscellaneous utility materials at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 in the Council Chambers at Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Ave. S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>After the hearing, the council will consider a resolution to declare certain public utility equipment surplus and authorize its sale to the highest bidder, return to the vendor for credit or auctioned.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>City staff reports that through daily operations, the utility maintenance crews accumulate used copper and brass fittings, pipe, wiring, and water meters.
