The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds <\/a>5-2 Wednesday night at Comcast Arena in Everett.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The game marked the T-Birds and Silvertips third meeting in the last nine days. The T-Birds won the first two games against the Tips in shootouts.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle (16-19-0-1) jumped out to a 1-0 lead at 3:11 of the first period on Branden Troock’s seventh goal of the season. Sean Aschim and Jake Doty had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett (7-22-1-7) tied the game 1-1 at 4:21 of the first on a goal from Josh Birkholz. Cody Fowlie and JT Barnett were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Nick Walters scored a four-on-three power-play goal at 14:37 of the first to give Everett a 2-1 lead. Josh Winquist and Brennan Yadlowski had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Everett 14-11 in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Birkholz scored a power-play goal at 6:43 of the second to extend Everett’s lead to 3-1. Barnett had the only assist on the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds outshot the Tips 8-7 in the second period and led 22-18 in total shots after 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Winquist scored a shorthanded goal at 4:39 of the third to make it a 4-1 Everett lead. Dominik Bittner and Barnett were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Marcel Noebels cut the Silvertips lead to two goals at 9:16 of the third with a shorthanded goal. Noebels came out of the penalty box and got the puck. He came into Everett zone, cut across the slot and beat Everett goalie Kent Simpson with a quick snap shot. Noebels 10th goal of the season was unassisted.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Birkholz completed the hat trick at 17:23 of the third when he got his third goal of the game. Bittner had the only assist on the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Everett 34-27 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard made 22 saves on 27 shots. His record is 16-16-0-1.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Simpson stopped 32 of 34 shots and his record is 6-17-1-5.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds travel to Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans on Friday at the Toyota Center. They are back home on Saturday to face the Spokane Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. at the ShoWare Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
