It was the home opener for the T-Birds, who face the Portland Winterhawks Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at ShoWare Center.

The T-Birds took a 1-0 lead just under two minutes into the game when Brenden Silvester knocked home a rebound for a power-play goal. Colin Jacobs sent the puck from the right side of the Seattle zone to Charles Wells heading down the left side of the ice. Wells carried the puck into the Everett zone and put a shot on goal with Silvester coming down the slot. Seattle (1-0-0-0) took a 2-0 lead on a power-play goal by Luck Lockhart at 6:34 of the second period. Jacobs held the puck on the boards on the left side. Wells threw the puck on net and Simpson made the save but the puck lay in the crease. Lockhart pushed the puck past Simpson in a scramble in front of the Everett net.

Prab Rai took a pass from Stefan Warg in the Seattle zone and carried the puck up the ice into the Everett zone. From the left circle Rai beat Simpson with a snap shot over the glove at 7:10 of the second. Rai’s shot hit the top of the right post and dropped into the net.

Seattle went in front 4-0 at 8:19 of the second. Wells sent the puck into the left corner to Lindsay Nielsen. Nielsen held the puck and then centered the puck to Jacobs in the slot. Jacobs put a wrist shot on goal that beat Simpson through his legs.

Everett replaced Simpson with Thomas Heemskerk after Seattle’s fourth goal. Simpson made 14 saves on 18 shots.
