A 28-year-old Des Moines man was sentenced Nov. 20 in U.S. District Court to eight years in prison and five years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing crack cocaine with intent to distribute.<\/p>\n
Amund Dresale Reynolds was arrested by Des Moines Police Jan. 22 after witnesses at a convenience store told officers that Reynolds had assaulted his girlfriend in the store parking lot, according to a U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office media release.<\/p>\n
When police took Reynolds into custody they found a .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol, with the chamber loaded, and safety off in the car near where he was seated. Reynolds\u2019 prior felony convictions bar him from possessing a firearm.<\/p>\n
According to court records, Reynolds has seven prior drug convictions, including one for distributing crack cocaine. All of the convictions are in King County during 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006.<\/p>\n
In addition, Reynolds has been arrested 10 times for domestic violence against his girlfriends or mothers of his children.<\/p>\n
The case was investigated by the Des Moines Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosive and the Port of Seattle Police Department.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
