Women\u2019s night out planned in Kent<\/b><\/p>\n
Kent women can have an evening of girls-only fun at the third annual Wine, Women, WOW event, set for 6-9 p.m. May 23 at Green River Community College at Kent Station.<\/p>\n
During the evening, attendees will sample wine and food and hear live music by Raining Jane. The event is presented by Kent Downtown Partnership and Kent MultiCare.<\/p>\n
Proceeds will benefit the KDP and the YWCA\u2019s Domestic Violence Program. Tickets cost $20 in advance, or $25 at the door. For details, call 253-813-6976 or visit www.winewomenwow.com.<\/p>\n
Cultural resource fair slated for May 14<\/b><\/p>\n
South King County Cultural Association will present a free Open House and Resource Fair 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 14 at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 E. Smith St., Kent. The event will showcase area resources in a variety of cultural and entertainment spheres, including: dance, literary arts, music, theater, gardens and municipal organizations.Refreshments will be provided.<\/p>\n

Veterans Outreach event is in Kent<\/b><\/p>\n
A Veterans Outreach program will take place 3:15-6:15 p.m. May 13 at the Kent Regional Library, 212 Second Ave. N.<\/p>\n
During the event, veterans and their families can get assistance in applying for benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs from a Disabled American Veterans Service Officer.<\/p>\n

Korean War vets to speak May 16<\/b><\/p>\n
The Kent Senior Activity Center will play host to \u201cThe Forgotten War,\u201d a commemoration event for veterans of the Korean Conflict, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. May 16. Veterans will be on hand to share memories and stories during the event.<\/p>\n
Veterans from other wars are also welcome to come and share. A veterans\u2019 luncheon sponsored by the Kent Firefighters Foundation will follow at 11:45 a.m. The senior center is located at 600 E. Smith St., Kent.<\/p>\n

Gluten-free tastings offered by market<\/b><\/p>\n
Nature\u2019s Market will offer a Gluten-free Tasting Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 17 and 18 at the store, 26011 104th Ave. S.E., Kent. The fair will include samples from a variety of gluten-free food companies, as well as a chance to speak with a representative from the Gluten Intolerance Group.<\/p>\n
