{"id":14894,"date":"2013-02-08T12:54:06","date_gmt":"2013-02-08T20:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/emerald-downs-releases-75-day-meet-schedule\/"},"modified":"2016-10-21T15:25:34","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T22:25:34","slug":"emerald-downs-releases-75-day-meet-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/sports\/emerald-downs-releases-75-day-meet-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"Emerald Downs releases 75-day meet schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Emerald Downs has announced a 75-day live racing season for 2013, beginning Friday April 19 and closing Sunday, Sept. 29.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The Washington Horse Racing Commission approved the dates at Friday&#8217;s monthly meeting.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Live racing will be every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with holiday racing on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, Independence Day, Thursday, July 4, and Labor Day, Monday Sept. 3.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The annual Fireworks Spectacular follows the races on Wednesday, July 3.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Post times are 6:45 p.m. Fridays and 2 p.m. weekends and holidays.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The 78th running of the Longacres Mile (Grade 3), featuring many of the nation&#8217;s finest middle-distance horses, is set for Sunday, Aug. 18.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The complete stakes schedule will be announced later this month.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The stable area opened last week, allowing horses over 10 weeks to prepare for the 2013 season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The meeting marks the 18th season of live racing at Emerald Downs.
