Smith St.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Powers will turn 96 years old in August.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>A group started the reunion to help make sure that people who lived in Kent and have given time and service to the community are recognized for their contributions.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The honorees this year are Powers, Harold and Mary (Osborne) Botts, Bertha (Schoenbachl) Pozzi, Joseph Silvestri, and Harold and Murial (Moore ) Vickrey.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The celebration includes introduction of honorees and a short acknowledgement of their accomplishments.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Items on display at the free event include Kent school yearbooks, old newspapers and memorabilia that is provided by the Kent Museum.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Refreshments will follow the program.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aaron Powers has been added to the list of honorees at the 22nd annual Kent Old Timers Reunion from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at the Kent Senior Activity Center, 600 E.
