Kent Police offer an inside look at its operations during its fall Community Police Academy, beginning Sept. 30<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The academy is a series of free classes on six consecutive Monday evenings from 7-9 at the Kent Police Fire Training Center, 24611 116th Ave. SE, East Hill.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
All classes are taught by police officers and department supervisors. Questions are invited.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Classes include crime scenes, recruiting, use of force, narcotics, detectives and K-9 units.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
A class and tour of the 911 center and the city jail are offered on Saturday, Oct. 26.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The academy is for anyone interested in what Kent Police do and how they do it.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The classes are open to Kent residents at least 18 years old who do not have a recent criminal record.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
