Karen Keiser, D-Kent, issued the following statement Tuesday regarding the hearing of an anti-teacher bill before the Senate Commerce &amp; Labor Committee:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;At a time when the Legislature is failing to negotiate a budget to fully fund our schools, we should not be wasting our time with &#8216;show trial&#8217; hearings on anti-teacher bills that have no chance of becoming law. It is a wasteful distraction when we need to be focused and productive.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>&#8220;I will not participate in such a waste of time. Our teachers deserve more support, as the Supreme Court and the voters have repeatedly told us, not to be used as political footballs.&#8221;<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sen.
