Moose Jaw defeated Seattle 3-2 in overtime Saturday night, snapping the Thunderbirds’ nine-game home winning streak at the ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Noah Gregor scored the game-winning goal for the Warriors on the power play at 1:14 of overtime. Gregor beat Seattle goalie Logan Flodell from the right circle with a wrist shot. Dryden Hunt and Brett Howden had the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds tied the game 2-2 at 18:27 of the third period on a coast-to-coast goal from Mathew Barzal. Jared Hauf passed the puck from behind the Seattle net to Barzal in the right circle in the Seattle zone. Barzal carried the puck up the ice and split the Moose Jaw defense at the blue line. Barzal deked left and slid the puck under Moose Jaw goalie Zach Sawchenko for the tying goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle (16-7-2-0) took a 1-0 lead at 5:33 of the second period on a power-play goal from Ryan Gropp.\u00a0 Barzal passed the puck from the right hash marks to Gropp in the right circle. Gropp took a wrist shot that beat Moose Jaw goalie Zach Sawchenko over the blocker. Ethan Bear had the second assist on the opening goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Moose Jaw (13-9-4-1) tied the game 1-1 at 11:57 of the second. The Warriors took a 2-1 lead at 6:10 of the third period on a power play goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Flodell had 20 saves and his record is now 10-4-2-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Sawchenko made 32 saves and improves his record to 10-5-2-1.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
