{"id":14258,"date":"2009-02-12T10:50:24","date_gmt":"2009-02-12T18:50:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-man-dies-in-high-speed-motorcycle-crash\/"},"modified":"2016-10-24T00:20:34","modified_gmt":"2016-10-24T07:20:34","slug":"kent-man-dies-in-high-speed-motorcycle-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-dies-in-high-speed-motorcycle-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent man dies in high-speed motorcycle crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 35-year-old Kent man was killed when his motorcycle, traveling at more than 60 mph, rear-ended a car stopped in traffic on a ramp from eastbound Highway 518 to southbound Interstate 5 at about 6 p.m. Wednesday in Tukwila.<\/p>\n<p>The Kent man, whose identity had not yet been released Thursday by the King County Medical Examiner&#8217;s Office, died at the scene of the accident, said Trooper Dan McDonald of the Washington State Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>With traffic backed up on the I-5 ramp waiting for a signal to allow vehicles to enter the freeway, the motorcyclist entered the HOV lane and used the shoulder to pass cars before hitting a car stopped in traffic.<\/p>\n<p>The motorcycle ricochet off the car and into a concrete barrier.
